Terms of Service

The Burlington Hood Cleaning Terms of Service are the conditions that apply when a commercial kitchen in Burlington books hood, duct or exhaust fan work through this website or by calling 289-797-3190. They cover the written quote, what the signed certificate states, what the kitchen prepares before the crew arrives, and payment, cancellation and photographs. Nothing on this website forms a contract by itself. The written quote for your kitchen is the agreement, and where it differs from this page, the quote applies. Commercial kitchens only.

The quote: what it covers and how long it holds

What a quote lists. Each canopy and its filters, the plenum, every duct section the crew will reach, and the rooftop fan, at one price. Extras such as a hinge kit or fan repair are separate lines you can accept or decline.

Where the price comes from. From $585 per visit for a single-hood kitchen up to ten feet, and from $995 per visit for a multi-hood kitchen of two to four canopies. Larger systems are quoted on site after a free walk-through.

Turnaround and validity. A written quote comes back within 24 hours and holds for the period printed on it. After that date, or after a change in menu or appliances, call before booking.

Conditions found during the visit. Anything found blocked or unsafe is quoted separately, never added to the invoice without your approval.

The certificate: what it records and what it does not

What it records. A signed health and safety certificate states which sections were cleaned to the published NFPA 96 standard on a stated date, names any section not reached, and is issued with before-and-after photographs of every cleaned surface.

What it does not assert. It is not an NFPA credential: Burlington Hood Cleaning references the published NFPA 96 standard and is not affiliated with NFPA. It is not a fire-code approval from the Burlington Fire Department and not a guarantee against fire.

What stays with the kitchen. Records, suppression maintenance and safe operation between visits. The NFPA 96 guide explains the intervals the Ontario Fire Code points to.

Before the crew arrives

The kitchen provides. Entry at the agreed time, a cooking line that is cold and clear, and power to the exhaust fan isolated at its disconnect by the kitchen or its electrician where the fan is in scope. Visits run overnight or between services. Proof of WSIB coverage and liability insurance is supplied before work starts.

Roof access and landlord permission. The customer arranges roof access before the visit, including landlord permission in a leased unit or plaza. Where the roof cannot be reached, the fan is recorded as not reached and a return visit is booked.

Payment, photographs, limits and governing law

Payment. The invoice matches the quote plus any item you approved in writing. Payment is due on completion unless agreed otherwise in writing beforehand.

Cancellation and rescheduling. Reasonable notice is expected in both directions. Any cancellation charge is the one printed on the quote. A visit the crew cannot honour is rebooked at no charge.

Photographs. Before-and-after photographs of every cleaned surface are supplied to you and kept as the job record. They are not published without your written permission.

Scope. Commercial kitchens only. Home range hoods are not serviced.

Limitation of liability. Pre-existing conditions are photographed before work begins. Except where Ontario law does not allow such a limit, liability for any claim arising from a visit is capped at the amount invoiced for that visit. No liability is accepted for loss of trade, the outcome of an inspection, or an undisclosed condition.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario. Questions go to 289-797-3190. The privacy policy covers the details you send.

Terms of service: frequently asked questions

Is the certificate a Burlington Fire Department approval?

The certificate is a cleaning record. It states what was cleaned to the published NFPA 96 standard on a given date.

What if the quote and this page say different things?

The quote wins. It is the agreement for your kitchen and can adjust these conditions in writing.

Who turns off power to the fan?

The kitchen or its electrician, at the fan disconnect. If it cannot be found, say so when booking.

Can the invoice come in higher than the quote?

The invoice equals the quote plus any line item you approved in writing.

Does the crew clean home range hoods?

Home range hoods are not serviced. These terms apply to commercial kitchens only.

Ask about scope before the night

A question about roof access, the fan disconnect or what the certificate says costs nothing on the phone. Call 289-797-3190 before the visit is booked.
